Whew...... I've finished invigilating and grading all examinations. Now I just need to submit the last grades of Spring Semester, and summer vacation will begin (for me).
I'm puzzled by how poorly so many of the first year English majors did in the Introduction to American Culture and Literature examination. I must re-think how I prepare the students for the test. I may even need to re-think the kind of questions I give them. Recalling the last day of the class, I see that I spent too much time finishing up William Carlos Williams and not enough time preparing them for the exam. I will end up passing almost everyone, but... I will have to give many students a Big Warning that they must improve for Fall Semester and explain the next final examination more clearly and repeatedly. There were about ten outstanding examinations! Anyway, now I have to type examples of good answers to make a handout for the first day of the next semester, and enter about 115 grades, and print and submit them. I do miss the kids!
